SPA, Belgium, Aug. 1 — Ryan Tveter bagged two ninth-place finishes in FIA Formula 3 action last weekend. The races supported the 24 Hours of Spa at the famous Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgium town that is known as the Pearl of the Ardennes.
It was the second-best event of the year so far for Tveter, who earned two seventh-place finishes in Pau, France in May. Tveter’s team struggled to arrive at optimum setups at this event, but Tveter consistently performed better than his two more-experienced teammates.
Tveter commented on the weekend, “I’m happy to have come away with some more points this weekend and the perf...
ZANDVOORT, North Holland, The Netherlands, July 18 — Ryan Tveter has had good results when racing in The Netherlands, and last weekend was no exception as the only American competing in the FIA Formula 3 series this year took home eighth-place points in the first race of the series' tripleheader at Zandvoort.
The 2.676-mile, 13-turn road course, which features elevation changes of about 26 feet, is a notoriously hard place to pass. With a field as tight as the FIA F3 series produces, that means qualifying well is paramount. Tveter was extremely consistent in qualifying, posting times of 1:29.295, 1:29.336 and 1:29.396.
NUREMBERG, Germany, June 27 — Ryan Tveter didn’t have the results he hoped for in the FIA Formula 3 tripleheader last weekend at the Norisring, but neither did many of the other top runners. When looking at the big picture the young American still has plenty to be thankful for, starting with the fact that he was even able to race this weekend at all after being involved in a horrific accident at the last race last month in Austria.
Tveter, the only American competing in the series, uses his racing program to promote three charities, and he was more than happy when he raised $4,200 for one of them, the Lessons for Life Found...
SPIELBERG, Austria, May 23 — Ryan Tveter, the only American competing in the international FIA Formula 3 series this year, turned 22 on Friday. In Saturday morning's F3 race at the Red Bull Ring, the Oyster Bay, N.Y.-based driver almost saw all those years pass before his eyes when he was involved in a horrific accident that garnered a great deal of attention worldwide.
It started with a simple spin, which happens all the time in racing. His black and blue Dallara #3 waltzed into a gravel trap and slowed dramatically, which is exactly what a gravel trap is meant to do to a race car.
PAU, France, May 16 — The FIA Formula 3 tripleheader on the street course at Pau is one of the most prestigious events on the series’ calendar, and it was even more so this year since it was the 75th anniversary of the event. It turned out to be an excellent points-earning weekend for the only American in the field, as Ryan Tveter of Oyster Bay, N.Y. posted two seventh-place finishes on Saturday and Sunday.
Two races of 33 minutes plus one lap were held on Saturday. Tveter started tenth and finished seventh in the first one on Saturday morning even though the narrowness of the street circuit keeps passing to a minimum.
MOGYOROD, Hungary, April 24 — Ryan Tveter, the only American competing in the FIA F3 series this year, was as high as eighth and came away with two 11th-place finishes on Saturday as the FIA Formula 3 series visited the Hungaroring over the weekend. Unfortunately the 21-year-old driver from Oyster Bay, N.Y. was sidelined from Sunday's race due to an engine problem.
Tveter started 11th in Race 1 Saturday morning and he was still 11th when the checkered waved on lap 21 after 33 minutes and one lap of competition. In between those two occurrences he had a stirring race, however, as he was as high as eighth and as low as 14th.
LE CASTELLET, France, April 4 — Thanks to some incredible heads-up driving, America's Ryan Tveter posted his best finish to date in the tough FIA Formula 3 series when he came from 17th to finish seventh Saturday afternoon in Race 2 of the season-opening tripleheader at Paul Ricard.
Tveter displayed a fine combination of simultaneous offense and defense at the start. By the end of a tumultuous first lap he had bettered his starting position by an incredible 11 positions.
Five drivers (Ben Barnicoat, Lance Stroll, Joel Eriksson, Max Gunther and Harrison Newey) were all out due to contact in the first turn. In addition, anot...
LE CASTELLET, France, April 1 — America's Ryan Tveter will be an ambassador for three not-for-profit organizations that improve the lives of children, adolescents and young adults as he competes in the FIA Formula 3 series this year. The series, a proven training ground for future Formula 1 stars, kicks off its 2016 season this weekend with a tripleheader at Paul Ricard.
Tveter, 21, the only American competing in the series in 2016, developed the three "community partnerships" for Right To Play, MTV Staying Alive, and the Lessons for Life Foundation. The program will raise awareness and money for all three charities.
